The guide is divided into two main sections : Pakhuis covering the Pass, Kliphuis Campground and Lower Pakhuis and Agterpakhuis covering de Pakhuys, 8 Day rain and Sassies.

Each section starts off with a detailed overview map, beautifully illustrated topos for each subsection followed by detailed route descriptions for each boulder in the area with some supporting pics to add flavour!

In the Bonus Boulders section Scott has included some of the newer lines opened during the 2010 season like the TDBG (Tough Danny Boy Gang) area and some of the waterfall problems. This 287 page guide is overall well written and great value for money at R320.

It is a must have for any bouldering enthusiast and will save you loads of time looking for areas and boulders as well as being an enviable addition to your coffee table back at home.

Given the astronomical rate of expansion of Rocklands over the past few years, it’s understandable that not all Rocklands areas are covered; we might have waited another 5 years for this guide. There is definitely room for newer editions in the future.
