Instagram post 2307531366084761658_589340319 It's the question on everyone's mind... can I go climbing and hill walking again? With the recent government update in mind, the BMC access team advises:

πŸŽ™οΈ PLUS CEO Dave Turnbull will be doing a live Facebook talk tomorrow (Wednesday) 12.30pm to further explain the situation and answer any questions you may still have regarding the return to climbing and hill walking.

Instagram post 2306647362384188081_589340319 Does Boris's latest message mean that we can head out climbing and hill walking? β πŸ€”

The current advice of the BMC access team is still to follow and support the government Covid-19 regulations in order to beat this pandemic. Following the latest announcement, our access team are hard at work to identify which regulations have changed, and how that could affect climbing and hill walking.

Following Sunday’s announcement, unlimited exercise, and travel to it may be allowed from Wednesday in England only. However, until the full plan document is released at 2pm this afternoon, it will be impossible to say with any certainty if all forms of sport/exercise will be allowed or only certain activities and if there will be any limit to travel or on overnight stays.

πŸ”— The link in our bio will take you to our full article explaining how we are currently working on the situation πŸ”—β

Please bear with us while we establish how changes to the regulations will affect our activities. As soon as we have a clearer idea we will publish our advice.

Instagram post 2303994190270171331_589340319 We've just launched our recovery plan for climbing and hill walking ⭐

Over the past two weeks, the BMC access team has been working hard to develop our proposals for phased re-opening of the outdoors for hill walking and climbing. This Covid-19 recovery plan for climbing & hill walking has been submitted to English and Welsh government ministers and departments today.

πŸ”— Read our proposal through the link in our bio πŸ”—β

This recovery plan aims to give government ministers and their advisors clear information specific to climbing and hill walking on how access to the outdoors for our activities could resume in a safe way as lockdown eases.
